Blocking Like A Ninja

I vaguely remember waking up in the middle of the night and somehow without even thinking or even being fully awake, blocking my fellow bedmate from hitting me in the face.  I had been fast asleep.  Maybe I had gotten hit already, who knows?  But, I said afterwards, that I felt like a Ninja.  I was blocking like a Ninja in my sleep!  Learning to do Ninja moves in my sleep?  I guess people learn to adapt to any situation even getting hit in their sleep.

My bedmate apologized profusely.  I felt bad for them.  I guess I should have been angry, but I thought it was hilarious and cool at the same time.  I have taken various martial arts classes, so maybe deep down inside I really did learn something?  At least where it counts, right?

Picture our warrior; asleep in a nice, soft, comfy bed.  When agents of the enemy sneak in upon him.  Our hero is still fast asleep, snoring away.  One of the enemy swings his battle axe right at the precise spot to smash him in the head.  Our hero turns to the side, while still asleep, with perfect timing, to avoid being hit.  Another enemy tries to hit him in the face and our warrior's arm raises, again with perfect timing to block. Finally something alerts our hero to danger and he arouses from his sleep, to see that he is surrounded. What to do?  What to do?  He realized he fights better in his sleep than when he is awake.   Oh well!
