Black and White and Grey All Over

It seems everywhere I turn lately people are talking about the dark side, and the good and the bad and the gray areas.  What is a gray area?  What comes to mind is gray matter, our brains, for some reason.  I don't know how applicable this is to this conversation, but hey, it's my brain and that's what comes to mind.

The older and more wiser (ha ha ha) I become I see that, yes, there's good (light), yes, there is bad (dark), but there is also gray. Some people don't agree.  They say live in the light, have no evil in you (like that is possible) and be honest, an open book, transparent.  While I truly believe in trying to hand out more good stuff, or let's call it positive energy, than bad stuff (let's call that negative energy); it really is all extremely relative.  I have used the $100 bill story before.  If I lose a $100 bill, that's really bad for me, hey, that's my grocery money for the week!  But...say if a hard working mom with 5 little mouths to feed finds it, and she really needed it because little Joey had to go to the doctor, then is losing that $100 good or bad?

I have seen evil at work and I have seen good at work.  I like to see good things happening, shouldn't we all?  It can all be very confusing, trying to categorize events, judge happenings and analyzing situations. We have opinions, other people have opinions and must we take that into account?  Or is light, just only light and darkness only darkness?

Maybe it's true.  Good is only good and bad is only bad.  Maybe where the gray area comes in is with our gray matter getting involved.  Our opinion of the matter or situation.  MAYBE there is no good or bad, just things that happen?  NO, that's hard for me to fathom.  Just look at science.  There is dark and light.  Maybe if we study the world around us more, we can try to understand.

Just pondering here...
