Ghosts in Albuquerque

Beautiful Albuquerque
I thought that we were just tired.  I mean I was exhausted from driving directly into the sun AT sunset.  I used to be upset when I looked at maps of freeways and saw zig zagging roads.  I didn't understand why there wasn't one freeway that had a direct route from one city to another.  Now I am very, very thankful for the zigs and the zags.  Those zigs took me out of the direct sun in my eyes and gave me a reprieve.  Those zags allowed me to relax until the next glaringly, blinding light from great sky shone in my eyes.

We made it into Albuquerque and found a decent hotel that had a hot free breakfast. Yay!  We were on the ground floor, so it was easy to bring our stuff in and plop.  I was so tired, but every time I closed my eyes I kept seeing various front views and side views of a man's face in my mind's eye.  I didn't know this man and was so tired I really didn't pay attention to what he looked like.  I had a slightly eerie feeling, but I didn't really pay it much mind.  I remember drinking bottles and bottles of water all night long.  The dry arid desert air finally took it's toll.  I mean we were used to breathing in our daily water intake back in humid Oklahoma.

The next day one of my companions said she had seen a ghost.  I told her about my weird happening.  She said hers was a woman.  This woman had stood by the bed and just stared at her.  She said she knew it wasn't any of us.   At the time, it didn't really bother me.  But now that I am back home and thinking about all of our adventures, I decided to do a little research.  I did find a picture of the exact hotel we stayed in and though it was a different room, the interior of the room they stayed in was identical to the one we stayed in.  Though they gave me no info, it did say it was haunted.  I wonder what they experienced and if was similar to ours?

Haunted? Hotel
I talked to my eldest son about it and he said that there have been scientific studies done that show people have hallucinations with certain sound waves and even carbon monoxide poisoning.  I researched the area around Albuquerque and saw that it has quite a few sleeping volcanoes.  Could this possibly be the reason there are so many "Ghost sightings" in Albuquerque?  There are an amazing amount of haunted places in this New Mexico town, which has many tours of it's popular haunted areas.

It would be nice to know the truth.  I have been in places, like the +Queen Mary both as a child and as an adult and felt very frightened and there was just an unnameable "something"  about the place.  I believe in a scientific explanation, whatever that may be, and know that one day, it will all be explained, scientifically.  We can scare ourselves very easily by thinking  eerie thoughts and imagining scary things.  The mind is a powerful tool, but let's find out the TRUTH and let's not speculate about unexplainable things until we can analyze it scientifically.
